The short version
Concrete fails at the base, not the surface.
Nearly every cracked patio around here traces back to the same two things: a base that was not compacted properly and water that had nowhere to go. Both happen underground, before the pour, where nobody is looking.
So that is where the work goes. Excavation to the right depth, compacted base, drainage that moves water away from the house, and control joints placed where the slab wants to crack rather than where they look tidy.

Dug to depth and compacted in lifts. This is the step that decides whether the slab lasts.

Slope and drainage planned so water leaves the slab and moves away from your foundation.

Mesh or rebar sized for the load the slab will actually carry.

Control joints
Cut at the right spacing and depth so the inevitable cracking happens where you planned it.

Finish options
Broom, exposed aggregate and stamped finishes, chosen for grip as well as looks.

Clean transitions
Where the slab meets deck, lawn or threshold, detailed so there is no lip and no trap for water.

Base prep and drainage are invisible once poured, which is exactly why they get skimped. We do not skip them.
Freeze-thaw is the design case
A slab here goes through dozens of freeze-thaw cycles a year. Air entrainment, jointing and drainage all account for it.

We do not publish prices, because a number without your site behind it is a guess — and the ones you see advertised usually are. Here is what actually moves it, so you can judge any quote you get, ours included.
The site
Access, slope, soil and how far services have to run. Two identical builds on different lots are not the same price, and the difference is decided before anything is drawn.
Size and structure
Span, storeys and roof geometry drive the frame. A simple shape built well is almost always better value than a complicated one built to a budget.
Materials
The same deck in cedar, composite or full PVC covers a wide range. We price the options side by side so the trade-off is yours to make, not ours to assume.
Finish level
Where the money goes once the structure is done. This is the part you can move most, and the part we can phase if it helps.
