There is no universally correct decking material.
There is a correct material for your exposure, your maintenance appetite and how long you plan to own the property. Composite and PVC cost more up front and much less over time; timber reverses that. Over a long enough hold, the lines cross.
A deck sitting in shade that holds snow behaves very differently from a south-facing deck in full sun. We bring samples to your site, in your light, and tell you which one we would put on our own house.

A polymer shell over a composite core — holds colour under UV, resists staining, needs washing rather than refinishing.

Full PVC
No wood content and no moisture absorption. The most stable option where a deck sits in shade or holds standing snow.

Hidden fastener systems
No screw heads across the field of the deck, and no fastener holes for water to sit in and freeze.

Proper substructure
Joist spacing set to the manufacturer's requirement for your board — the most common cause of a wavy composite deck.

Finished edges and fascia
Picture framing, mitred corners and fascia so the perimeter reads as intentional.

We do not publish prices, because a number without your site behind it is a guess — and the ones you see advertised usually are. Here is what actually moves it, so you can judge any quote you get, ours included.
The site
Access, slope, soil and how far services have to run. Two identical builds on different lots are not the same price, and the difference is decided before anything is drawn.
Size and structure
Span, storeys and roof geometry drive the frame. A simple shape built well is almost always better value than a complicated one built to a budget.
Materials
The same deck in cedar, composite or full PVC covers a wide range. We price the options side by side so the trade-off is yours to make, not ours to assume.
Finish level
Where the money goes once the structure is done. This is the part you can move most, and the part we can phase if it helps.
