The short version

A shed you can work in through January.

The gap between a kit shed and a building you can actually work in year-round is insulation, a proper floor, real wiring and a door that seals. None of it is exotic; all of it gets skipped.

We build them as small buildings rather than large boxes — footings to suit the ground, an envelope that holds heat, and siding and trim matched to the main house so it looks intentional from the kitchen window.

The first walk-through is how we both decide whether we are the right fit. You get straight answers either way.

What's included

What youactually get.

01

Proper foundation

Footings or a slab suited to your ground rather than blocks on grade.

02

Insulated envelope

Walls, roof and floor insulated so the building is usable in winter without costing a fortune to heat.

03

Power and data

Permitted circuits, enough outlets, lighting designed for the work, and a data run where you need it.

04

Heating and cooling

Mini-split or equivalent so the space is comfortable at both ends of the year.

05

Matched exterior

Siding, roof pitch and trim matched to the main residence.

06

Storage and workshop options

Uninsulated storage and garden buildings where that is all that is needed — priced accordingly.

Why Bugle

Why hire usfor this.

Built like a building

Real footings, a real envelope and permitted wiring. The difference shows up the first cold week.

Permitting handled

Thresholds vary by size and jurisdiction. We confirm whether yours needs a permit and submit it if so.

It matches the house

Same detailing as the main residence, so it adds to the property instead of cluttering it.

Highly recommend Bugle Construction! We had a portion of our large asphalt driveway replaced with exposed aggregate concrete. Tyler D. met with us, understood our goals and design ideas and provided us with an estimate. He was also a very responsive point pe…

I recently worked with Bugle on a covered deck addition to my property. Everyone is stunned by the craftsmanship of the finished product. Pictures truly don't do it justice. Michael set up all the moving pieces for any subcontractors and was transparent and f…

Bugle Construction did a beautiful job with our timber wrap around covered porch, and window eyebrows. We couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out! They started the job in the middle of the winter months and had some zero degree days to deal with. They…

The money question

What decideswhat it costs.

We do not publish prices, because a number without your site behind it is a guess — and the ones you see advertised usually are. Here is what actually moves it, so you can judge any quote you get, ours included.

The site

Access, slope, soil and how far services have to run. Two identical builds on different lots are not the same price, and the difference is decided before anything is drawn.

Size and structure

Span, storeys and roof geometry drive the frame. A simple shape built well is almost always better value than a complicated one built to a budget.

Materials

The same deck in cedar, composite or full PVC covers a wide range. We price the options side by side so the trade-off is yours to make, not ours to assume.

Finish level

Where the money goes once the structure is done. This is the part you can move most, and the part we can phase if it helps.

Bugle is a builder, not a lender — but Jared Teel and Jason Kuettel are the two local loan officers our clients most often work with, and both are used to construction draws. Their details are published in full.
